Book Talk Radio

In celebration of the publication of Talk Radio for Authors – Getting Interviews Across the U.S. and Canada (Infinity Publishing 2007), I'll be going on a Virtual Book Tour. Although the book is geared to authors, each show's guest criteria lists several specialties of experts, i.e., therapists, teachers, relationship coaches, religious and spiritual leaders, scientists.

The blogs are all different - from a host of pet show to an expert blogger.

Fran invites one and all to visit these sites on the following dates to ask questions of the author and make suggestions:

March 12, 2007, 2-3 p.m., EST, the blog of Sigrid Macdonald
http://damourroad.blogspot.com

March 16, 2007, the blog of Kim Bloomer at Animal Talk Naturally
http://www.animaltalknaturally.com/2007/02/21/animal-talk-naturally-published-in-new-book-talk-radio-for-authors/

March 19, 2007, 2-3 p.m. EST, the blog of Ted Demopoulos

March 20, 2007, 4-5 p.m., EST. The blog of Casey Dawes

Fran is fascinated by the marriage of authors and talk radio and encourages both hosts and guests to report here on their interviews. Please include the name of the show and its website. Commenters are also asked to leave their emails and websites.

Here's an example from my new book, Talk Radio for Authors.

This guest is reporting on the host of Full Power Living with Ilene Dillon on World Talk Radio, http://www.worldtalkradio.com
http://www.emotionalpro.com:

"Ilene Dillon has the perfect qualities for a great interviewer: she's both caring and sharp. She asks questions that touch the core of the topics, and she isn't afriad to go deep into people's souls and let their hearts speak. She makes the interviews fun and challenging, adding a personal touch to them by sharing some of her own insights and personal experiences. Ilene is truly a talent to getting others to share their stories freely and openly. She makes sensitive topics a breeze to talk about. I had a blast being a guest on her show. Thank, you, Ilene, for such a fabulous time." Shirley Cheng

What was your radio experience?

Fran Silverman interviewed my co-editor, Brenda Warneka, on her radio program, "Book Talk Radio." The book, "The Simple Touch of Fate," is an anthology of true stories about Fate. Of course, I listened in and I was extremely impressed with the questions Fran asked, and how much time she gave my co-editor to actually talk about the book itself. I felt that it was a great interview, and I wish every radio talk show host was as thoughtful with her guests as Fran is. Arlene Uslander

Great idea for a blog, Fran!

On my latest ReelTalk Radio show, I had the pleasure of interviewing Henry Thomas, who charmed moviegoers as the little boy in "E.T." He's now a fine adult actor appearing in an upcoming film titled "The Last Sin Eater."

Thomas was a delight to interview -- very open and candid about his career and latest movie.

Listen to this show at:

Cheers and best wishes!

Oops! Sorry I forgot to mention that "The Last Sin Eater" movie is adapted from an award-winning novel by Francine Rivers.

Hello Fran, I never got the chance to really thank you for getting me an interview on the Jackie Sue Radio show. It went well and I was able to speak about my novels and my writing life. I am looking forward to being on your show one day.

Hi Fran,

Your blog looks great and I'm sure that it will provide people with valuable information.

Thanks to you, I was a guest on The Good Life Show with Jesse Dylan. I talked about my book on hip surgery called Getting Hip: Recovery from a Total Hip Replacement.

Jesse was a wonderful host. He was enthusiastic, well-informed and made me feel extremely comfortable. I also particularly liked his assistant, Sam Mednick, who went out of her way to make the broadcast special.

You can listen to the show at http://www.tglshow.com/integrated.php (I'm 10th from the bottom, close to health guru, Andrew Weil) or read about my hip book at http:sigridsrecovery.blogspot.com.
Good luck with your new book and keep on doing what you do best -- helping authors to promote their work!

I heard someone this morning speaking on the power of radio. Then I realized how addicted I am to talk radio shows. I NEVER listen to music or CDs only talk radio or silence.

thanks for the blog!
