A book party for Talk Radio for Authors was held on Tuesday, April 17, 1007, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Good News Broadcast Studio, 126 Fifth Avenue, New York City, between 17th and 18th Streets. The guests were interviewed by the host, Paul Sladkus, for Internet TV.

A few days prior to the party, I was on Paul's Internet TV show - this one called the Water Hour - Part 12. Since I knew we would be discussing water, I brought along my Catskills Alive book given that the six reservoirs in the Catskills region supply 90% of New York City's drinking water. As luck would have it, just that day there was an article in The New York Times pertinent to the subject - so I was prepared.

To access Part 1, Part 2 or Part 12, click

I am on Part 12 and at the end of Part 2. (The picture on Part 1, unfortunately, is blurry).

Click DSL even if you have cable.

Note: The videos won't play on a Mac or Firefox browser.

Well, as a Mac owner with Firefox, I'm a bit perturbed! Really, they ought to fix that.

I'd love to get on a talk radio show. Do you know how to do that?

Dear Fran:
As always, it is wonderful to connect with you. This time through Yvonne's chain. (-: Your book is still up on my website (www.howtodoitfrugally.com) which is designed to be a resource for writers. Naturally, I am still recommending both of your books for writers. Both great resources!

I am a mass comm major at MTSU, and want to enter the field of broadcasting (perferably radio). This seems like a great addition to the personality side of being a show host.

Hi ladies - so nice to connect with all of you here. Speaking of radio, where's Dorothy? Doesn't she have a book on how to get on internet radio to promote your book?

Hi Fran,
I primarily use FireFox, too, but I got out IE and watched you on the video clip. You presented well, and brought in your books well; I like how you got Talk Radio in there right away, and gave some important points immediately and conversationally.

Thanks, Fran for your insights and ideas for talk radio. I knew about the Good News Network, but not about Paul's Talk Radio Show.

PS - If you're a Firefox user (I am one), it is worth copying the URL and opening IE.

I may be able to use your services. My father-n-law has a auto-biography we are needing to market.

I want to start working on getting onto radio shows to promote my fiction and my upcoming author promotional book. One of my ghostwriting clients interviewed me about my line of business books and it went very well. It went so well that he decided to add my name as co-author for the book :) I'll take a closer look at your book and it seems you have a wonderful list of helpful links :)

You make me laugh, Fran. When you said "brought along my Catskills Alive book given that the six reservoirs in the Catskills region supply 90% of New York City's drinking water," I could tell you are a great book marketer, too. I shall never forget how we cross-pormoted our two book marketing books at Christmas time. Talk about great cross-promotion!

Terry, I do have IE lurking in my applications folder, but Fran said it won't work on a Mac, period. So I guess it's impossible for me to hear. They really ought to fix that.
